Authorities Report Additional Structure Losses From Delta Fire

The Delta Fire is all but contained, now at 98%. It’s grown just 3 acres since Friday, now 60,705 acres. However the number of destroyed structures has grown to 20. The small gap of uncontained perimeter is on the southern edge at Wild Bill Gulch. There’s still some significant fire activity within the perimeter, particularly near Shoemaker Gulch. Crews are busy on suppression repair, pushing vegetation back onto firelines to prevent erosion when the rains eventually come. Ridges are also being built at angles on hillsides to divert water and prevent flash flooding. There are no restrictions on Interstate Five and all mandatory evacuations have been lifted. The McCloud Arm of Lake Shasta is reopened for boating and Castle Crags State Park has also reopened.
