Three Arrested on Gun Charges

Three men were captured after allegedly stealing guns from a Lakehead home and then trying to hide out in someone else’s Shasta Lake home. Just after 3 Sunday afternoon, someone on Pine Street in Lakehead reported that two men and a woman had broken into their neighbor’s home and left in a white Honda Passport with several stolen rifles and shotguns. A responding deputy saw the Honda go by the other way on Interstate Five but couldn’t catch up to it. Shortly afterward the Honda was spotted by another deputy at a home on Shasta Street in the City of Shasta Lake. As more deputies arrived at the house, Monique Solorio came out and said she had arrived home to find three men there. The house was surrounded and deputies began calling out for the occupants to surrender. Phonexay Phonepaseuth walked outside but refused to provide any information about the others inside. After an hour there was no response so the SWAT team was called because of the possibility the men were heavily armed with stolen guns. As the SWAT team arrived in their armored vehicles, Mark Blake and Jesse Caldwell surrendered. The house was searched and inside a secret trap door in the living room, deputies found the stolen guns, which included two semi-auto 12 gauge shotguns, an AR-15, an AR-10, and a bolt action rifle along with an assortment of ammunition. The guns were returned to their owner and the men went to jail.
