A missing man was found on Mount Shasta after wandering away from his hallucinogen ingesting companions, according to the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department. A 9-1-1 call was received at 10:15 Saturday morning from Sand Flat reporting that 28-year-old Tayde Rafael Tovar-Mendoza of Santa Nella had been missing since 1:30am. He had reportedly walked away from the campsite wearing no shoes after a disagreement. Search and Rescue, Forest Service mountain rangers and a C-H-P helicopter began combing the area but found nothing Monday morning. Tovar-Mendoza had apparently walked several miles over rough terrain barefoot until he came to the ski park and managed to get into one of the buildings for shelter.
