A smash and grab burglary at a Redding jeweler a couple of weeks ago apparently resulted in a major loss. Secret Witness is offering a $1000 reward for anonymous tips at 243-2319 or scsecretwitness.com. The posting says that at 3:43AM on September 25th someone wearing a mask broke through the glass front door of Anderson’s Fine Jewelry in the Hilltop Town and Country Shopping Center. The burglar then broke several glass display cases and stole what’s described as a large amount of jewelry. RPD says it was several thousand dollars worth of goods, including watches, rings, earrings and other items. Investigators say most of the items were sterling silver. There were alarms and surveillance cameras, but the thief was gone when police got there. The surveillance footage can be seen on the KQMS Facebook page.
