The CHP in Trinity County is searching for a man who escaped after a high speed chase outside Weaverville last Sunday. At least four people were in a speeding pickup on Highway 299 west of Trinity Dam Boulevard. A CHP Officer attempted a stop, but the driver took off at speeds exceeding 100 miles an hour, eventually stopping at the end of Industrial Park Way. According to the Trinity Journal, three people tried to escape. Two were apprehended, but one got away. The person still in the vehicle was released. The suspected driver who escaped is Keeler Keebler Harris, of Florida. Harris is described as a black man, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to notify the CHP at 623-3832.
