A human-caused vegetation fire in East Redding on Friday raised suspicions, but no responsible person was identified. Redding Firefighters were called to an area between Shasta View Drive and Forest Homes Drive near Leonard Street south of Hartnell. A small spot of weeds and brush was burning, along with a wooden backyard fence. It was quickly doused. Two people were questioned, but released. Damage was estimated at around $2500.
