Council Approves Cannabis Business Near Mission

A controversial marijuana cultivation business has been approved by the Redding City Council on appeal. The use permit for the business in the former Northern Rehab building on South Market Street was denied by the planning commission because of it’s proximity to the Good News Rescue Mission. The city ordinance says the site will be fenced, landscaped, and have no sign. All eight of the employees hired will also need to be vetted by the city before cultivation can begin.
