A man just east of Redding says he lost everything he owned of value in a fire early Wednesday morning. The blaze broke out at 3AM in a detached garage next to the man’s house on Salmon Creek Road off Old Alturas. The loss is estimated at around $60,000. The resident had an extensive collection of fishing tackle. His own efforts to extinguish the fire were thwarted by the danger of ammunition and reloading equipment going off in the heat. The cause is believed to have been an electrical issue.
