Kreider Selected As New Fire Chief

After a nationwide, competitive search, the City of Redding has selected it’s new fire chief. Subject to expected approval by the city council, Cullen Kreider has been selected to replace the late Gerry Gray, who recently died unexpectedly. Kreider had been the assistant chief and has been with the department for 27 years. He’s the only chief since 1986 who worked his way up through the ranks. City Manager Barry Tippin said “Cullen will be an excellent chief. Very pleased he has accepted the position”.
