Man Arrested For Attempted Murder After Shooting In Happy Valley

A Happy Valley resident reported to dispatchers that he shot a man Saturday morning. That was followed by a 9-1-1 call from the man he shot en route to the hospital, according to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office. Prior to those calls, someone else had already reported a family disturbance, so deputies were already on their way to the house on Pine Street in Happy Valley. Before they arrived, 23-year-old Teezar Brady unloaded his handgun and put in a safe place for the deputies to take possession of it. Brady was there with his girlfriend, Rachael Walker. The couple lives at the house along with Annette Brady and her boyfriend, 24-year-old Dalton Brousseau-Tracy, who apparently had been in a verbal argument. The sheriff’s office didn’t say whether Teezar Brady and Annette Brady are siblings, but Teezar said he feared for Annette’s safety and retrieved his 9 millimeter handgun from his safe. There was a struggle between the two men, and Brousseau-Tracy took a round to the chest. He and Annette then fled to seek medical help. He’s expected to recover. After taking statements from all four people, deputies arrested Teezar Brady for attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. The gun was seized and the case will be reviewed by the D.A.’s Office.
