A Redding parolee was arrested after a standoff early Monday morning. A little after Midnight Redding Police were called to the Deluxe Inn on Market Street. They arrived to find a woman on the sidewalk outside the motel who said she had been assaulted by 61-year-old Timothy Pudwell. She said she was in his room when he tried to stab her, but she grabbed the knife and wrested it away from him. She said she then tried to call 9-1-1 but Pudwell took the phone out of her hand, then punched and kicked her in the head. She was transported to a hospital to be treated for her injuries. Meanwhile, officers tried to contact Pudwell in his motel room for almost an hour before he came out and was arrested for several felonies, including assault with a deadly weapon.
