Effort To Re-Oak Areas Devastated By Carr Fire Nets Over 6000 Acorns

People can stop dropping acorns off at the Redding Library. The effort to re-oak Redding has gathered more than 6,000 acorns, which is more than can be used this year. City officials are advising people to leave the rest for the squirrels. The acorn gathering was done to restore the natural landscape burned by the Carr Fire. Replanting of saplings will begin in the Fall of next year and more acorns will be needed then, but for now they’re full up on acorns.
