A Shasta County jury has found a man guilty of charges that could put him in prison for the rest of his life. In May of this year, Xavier Block offered to walk a woman home in Cottonwood. Instead, he beat her up and strangled her until she passed out, then dragged her unconscious body into the woods, sexually assaulted her, and left her for dead. The woman managed to get herself to a nearby home to seek help. Block was convicted of multiple felony counts Wednesday. His sentencing is November 20th.
