Redding Based Helicopter Crew Honored By Governor Brown

Two local CHP Air Operations Officers have received California Public Safety Officers Medal of Honor awards. Helicopter Pilot Chad Millward and Flight Officer Phil Agdeppa of the CHP’s Northern Division Air Operations were presented the awards Monday in Sacramento by Governor Jerry Brown and Attorney General Xavier Becerra. The two Redding Area Officers, along with another CHP air crew from the Golden Gate Division, are credited with saving the lives of 41 people, along with 4 dogs and one cat. Crews of the 2 helicopters evacuated people from 14 wind-driven wildfires that broke out north of Napa the night of October 8th, 2017.
