A woman trying to avoid a herd of deer left the roadway, hit an embankment and then a large Oak Tree Friday morning. Just after 3AM the Ford Fusion left the roadway on Lake California Drive just past the store. It was first reported as a hit and run, but the woman driver later advised the CHP she had left the scene to head to work. She was not injured in the incident.
