Man Sentenced To 2 Years For Pointing Laser At Aircraft

A Red Bluff man has been sent to prison for pointing a laser at a CHP helicopter in July. The laser light got in the pilot’s eyes, making it difficult to see his instruments. Discharge of a laser at an aircraft is a felony crime, and it pinpoints the perpetrator’s location for officers on the ground. When Red Bluff Police responded and found 19-year-old Tyler Beloit, he tried to run and fought with them, leading to an additional felony for battery with injury on a peace officer. Beloit has been sentenced to 2 years 8 months in state prison.
