A child molester from Corning will not be back after receiving the maximum possible sentence. In November of last year, Corning Police arrested 63-year-old Rodrigo Mendoza Govea on a long list of felony sex crimes, many of them involving force or violence and some of them with children younger than 10. His bail was set at nearly $4 Million. A jury trial was held in Tehama County from October 3rd to October 9th. The jury deliberated for only one hour before returning guilty verdicts on all counts. A sentencing hearing was held on Monday and, after hearing arguments from both sides, the judge decided on the maximum of 70 years to life in state prison.
