An Anderson man has drowned in a boating accident on Lewiston Lake. On Sunday morning at 8:15AM, the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a canoe capsizing with 2 men aboard. They were believed to be duck hunting. Other boaters in the area heard the men yelling for help and rescued one of them, 20-year-old Travis Stroup. His companion, 20-year-old Tyler Allen Brooks was not found. Emergency personnel, including a sheriff’s department boat, a CHP helicopter and search and rescue drivers. That afternoon, at around 2:30PM found Brooks’ body in about 16 feet of water.
