Several small fires have been reported in the Redding area, fueled by high winds and low humidity. A quick response to a vegetation fire at a transient camp not only kept the size down, but resulted in an arrest. Four Redding Fire Department engines and 14 personnel responded to a fire Thursday monring in an open field at Browning and Canby, near Kohl’s. It was determined that the fire was intentionally set. The person responsible, who had a felony warrant, was at the scene and arrested. The fire was capped at about an acre.
