The Butte County Sheriff’s Office has reported 5 people have died in Paradise as a result of the Camp Fire. The fatalities were in the area of Edgewood Lane. The preliminary information indicates that the victims were in vehicles and became overwhelmed by the flames. Due to the burns, the identities of the deceased were not immediately available. Autopsies will be performed to determine the causes of death and identifications. The Butte County Coroner’s Office has formed an inter-agency team to investigate and identify any additional fatalities, the sheriff’s office reminds anyone seeking information about a missing person to check safeandwell.org.
