Temporary Fencing Setup Around South City Park

In preparation for construction of the permanent fence at South City Park, the parks department has put up temporary fencing. Throughout the week, the Redding Police Department, Good News Rescue Mission, and Hill Country Health and Wellness Center walked through the park with information and resources needed for living arraignments and health care. They advised everyone that the park was closing Friday, and they would need to vacate. Signs were also posted around the park. Friday morning, RPD Officers closed the park, escorting 5 people who remained off the property. The community clean up crew collected about 950 pounds of trash and debris. Once the park was empty, all gates were locked.
