A Shasta Lake man has been arrested on several charges after threatening to kill his father. Saturday morning around 8AM, SHASCOM received a report of a possible brandishing of a firearm at 3610 Olive St. in the City of Shasta Lake. The reporting party, Nyal Bennett, advised his son, later identified as 32-year-old Troy Bennett pointed a firearm at him and told him he was going to kill him. Deputies responded and found Troy standing outside of the residence and taken into custody without incident. Troy was determined to be on active felony probation for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Deputies also discovered a loaded handgun and a loaded assault rifle in Troy’s vehicle. Further investigation was completed and Troy was later booked for violation of assault with a deadly weapon, attempted robbery, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of an assault rifle, criminal threats, possession of a high capacity magazine, and a probation violation.
