Deputies Use K9 To Arrest Domestic Violence Suspect

A domestic violence case has resulted in an arrest. Thursday night around 9PM, deputies from the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office City of Shasta Lake Patrol Station responded to Millers Mobile Home Park for a report of a domestic disturbance. Deputies contacted a woman, who had obvious visible injuries and said that her husband, 28-year-old Jonathan Romo, had physically assaulted her. Deputies determined that Romo was in violation of felony corporal injury to a spouse and assault with a deadly weapon. While talking with the victim, Romo reportedly began yelling from inside the residence and refused to come out. K-9 “Hondo” was sent in and apprehended Romo, who kicked the dog. Hondo was ok. Romo was arrested for felony corporal injury to a spouse, assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, and harming a police K-9.
