Man Faces 19 Years In Prison After Taking Plea Deal

A Shasta County man has reached a plea deal for shooting a teenager at an East Redding home. Early the morning of May 8th of last year Redding Police responded to a report of shots fired at a house on Mistletoe Lane, a couple of blocks east of Mistletoe School. A 17-year-old boy had been shot once in the torso by someone outside who fired through a window. There were several people at the home and they were all brought in for questioning. Those interviews implicated 21-year-old Enrique Padilla. He was arrested the next day at a North Redding motel. Padilla was upset that his ex-girlfriend, who lived at the Mistletoe Lane home, was seeing other people. Padilla has reached an agreement with prosecutors that’ll give him a prison sentence of 19 years. He’ll be formally sentenced on December 20th.
