A Sacramento man led the CHP on a high speed chase in Tehama County on Monday, according to the Red Bluff Daily News. Shortly after 11AM an officer got behind a Volkswagon Passat on Southbound Interstate 5 and followed it as it exited onto Bowman Road. He tried to pull the car over but the driver took off westbound at more than 100 miles an hour. Because of unsafe road conditions the chase was terminated but another CHP Officer soon spotted the car off Highway 36 and checked the license plate number, learning that the car was stolen. Tehama County D.A. Investigators responded and arrested the alleged driver, 28-year-old Preston Torguson. He had a warrant for his arrest and is on parole in both California and Oregon.
