Redding Police have arrested a woman for stealing packages. Monday morning around 9:45AM, James Casner and his wife saw a woman steal a package from their front porch in the 11000 block of Ridgewood. The Casner’s followed her as she left in a Toyota 4Runner. Two RPD Officers located the suspect driving southbound on Interstate 5 near South Bonnyview Road. They stopped the car, driven by 36-year-old Cassandra Wilson of Shasta Lake City. According to the police, Wilson had the Casner’s package with her. Another stolen package from a separate victim was also located in the 4Runner. During a search, officers also found a lock picking kit. Wilson said she was simply practicing with the suspected burglary tools if she ever needed to get back into her own home or car. Wilson was booked for petty theft, possession of burglary tools, and driving on a suspended license.
