Strong Storm Fronts Expected To Move In This Weekend

The National Weather Service is expecting a return to a wet pattern bringing rain to the valley and mountain snow this weekend. This first moderately strong storm will bring rain to the valley with enough snow in the mountains to create travel issues. One to 2 inches of rain is expected in the Redding area from Saturday morning through Sunday night, with one to one-and-a-half feet of snow in Siskiyou County. The Lassen Park area may get up to 3 or 4 feet. Snow is forecast as low as 4,000 feet. The system is expected to spread over the area late Friday night with the strongest precipitation on Saturday. Another storm is expected the first part of next week.
