NPU Arrests Three

The Redding Police Department’s Neighborhood Police Unit has arrested two people on drug charges and another for possession of ammunition. Last Thursday, officers were patrolling a high crime area in the area of Starthmore and Caitlin Drives. They noticed several people gathered around parked vehicles. As they approached them, 36-year old Robert Gregory Tabarez of Sacramento fled into a known problem residence. Prior to fleeing, he’d been talking to his girlfriend, 38-year old Tisha Susann Williams. Officers discovered that she was on felony probation for illegal possession of a firearm. A search of Williams’ person and vehicle were conducted. They found two large packages of methamphetamine each of them weighing over one pound. Williams was immediately detained. Believing Tabarez and people in the residence were also involved, officers asked everyone to come out. Several people exited and were detained without incident including Tabarez. The primary resident, 37-year-old Ou Saechao, was also detained on scene. The officers were familiar with Saechao, as he’s been arrested fifteen times in Shasta County for a multitude of crimes including narcotic sales and illegal weapon possession. Officers obtained a search warrant for in an attempt to locate additional evidence. The search turned up ammunition, which Saechao is prohibited from possessing due to prior felony convictions, and a small amount of methamphetamine. Tabarez and Williams were arrested and booked into the Shasta County jail for possession of methamphetamine for sales and conspiracy. Tabarez was also booked on three active arrest warrants which were from three different counties (Shasta, Sonoma, and Mendocino). Additionally, Saechao was arrested and booked into jail for being a convicted felon in possession of ammunition.
