Attempted Murder in Siskiyou County

A Siskiyou County man has been arrested after shooting at a woman. About 5 AM Wednesday, Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call of a domestic disturbance and a possible suicidal man at a house on Michelle Drive, outside the City of Mount Shasta. An argument between the couple living there escalated. The woman was trying to drive away when the man allegedly shot at her. She drove to Mt. Shasta Police Department and was later taken to Mercy-Mount Shasta Hospital. A deputy and sergeant arrived at the house, where there was a stand-off with the suspect. They were assisted by officers from Mount Shasta and Weed Police Departments, and the California Highway Patrol. A sergeant negotiated with the suspect and got him to surrender. 79-year-old Donald Hannan was arrested and taken to the county jail in Yreka. Hannan was booked for attempted murder charges and was also charged with discharging a firearm at an occupied vehicle.
