A north Redding resident is without a home after a fire overnight Sunday night. Redding Fire Department was dispatched a little before 1 AM to Twin View Boulevard. A fire had started in a metal storage shed, which was fully engulfed in flames, and the fire was spreading to a mobile home next to it. The occupant was able to escape unharmed. Firefighters had the flames knocked down quickly, but the shed was totally destroyed and the home had significant damage, leaving it uninhabitable. The value of the loss is estimated at $20,000 for the structures and another $15,000 for the contents. The cause is still under investigation.
