Man Wanted After Shooting At Ex-Wife Killed By Deputies In Butte County

The Butte County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that an attempted murder suspect was shot and killed by authorities. Deputies caught up with the man several hours after he allegedly fired shots at his ex-wife in Red Bluff Monday morning. Red Bluff Police were called to the 400 block of Madison Street about 10:45AM after someone reported shots had been fired. The suspect apparently fled in a Ford pickup before officers arrived. Officers spoke with the victim who said she and her ex-husband were involved in an altercation and the man shot multiple rounds from a handgun toward her. The woman was not struck by any of the rounds, but did suffer some minor injuries. She was taken to the hospital and later released. Deputies in Butte County located the suspect in the area of Highway 162 and Aguas Frias Road a few hours later and an officer involved shooting occurred. No other details have been released.
