Drunk Driver Sentenced To 210 Days After Crashing Tehama County

A 36-year-old Tehama County man has been sentenced for a drunken chase and crash. Noe Cruz-Ramirez was arrested December 22nd. He had crashed into a bush off of Highway 99W and then drove away at high speed. Deputies went after him but Cruz-Ramirez did not stop for their lights and sirens, instead trying to evade them by driving into oncoming traffic at more than 80 miles an hour. At least 5 drivers pulled off the road to prevent being hit head-on. Cruz-Ramirez eventually lost control near Wiltey Road and his car left the road and became disabled. He then fought with the deputies as they tried to handcuff him. He had a blood-alcohol level of .21. Cruz-Ramirez has reached a plea deal and got a sentence of 210 days in jail and 5 years probation.
