Parolee Arrested On I-5 Near Dunsmuir With Large Amount Of Drugs

A parolee has been arrested on multiple charges as a result of a joint investigation. On Wednesday, the California Department of Justice, Siskiyou Unified Major Investigations Team and the California Highway Patrol worked a joint investigation that resulted in the arrest of parolee Jorge Luis Rodriguez of Yreka. Rodriguez was stopped on Interstate 5 north of Dunsmuir for vehicle code violations and driving on a suspended license. Officers found about a half ounce of Methamphetamine in his pants pocket. A further search of the vehicle revealed a semi-automatic handgun, a couple hundred rounds of ammunition, a half pound of Methamphetamine, three ounces of Mexican Brown Heroin and almost two pounds of Marijuana. Rodriguez was booked into the Siskiyou County Jail for multiple violations including being a felon in possession of a firearm and possessing Methamphetamine & Heroin for sale.
