Sex Offender Captured At Downtown Redding Motel

A high risk sex offender was captured by Redding Police on Thursday. 48-year-old Robert Michael Rodeski was sentenced to prison in 2009 for lewd or lascivious acts by force or fear against a child under 14 years old. Rodeski was paroled in April of last year and required to wear a GPS ankle monitor. By November he had removed the monitor, had not registered as a sex offender, and his whereabouts were unknown. An arrest warrant was issued by the Department of Corrections, and Redding Police started looking for him. The Neighborhood Police Unit and Shasta Interagency Narcotics Task Force teamed up and located Rodeski at the Stardust Motel on Pine Street. A search of his room reportedly turned up a pound and a half of Methamphetamine and 15 grams of Heroin. Rodeski admitted he had cut off his ankle monitor and had been staying in the Redding area for a long time.
