A prison guard from Susanville will be on the other side of the bars now that he’s been sentenced for propositioning a teenage girl. 27-year-old Timothy Holt was a correctional officer at High Desert State Prison when he started corresponding over an Internet messaging service with the underage girl, and encouraging her to have sex with him. When the girl’s father contacted law enforcement about Holt, officers took over the girl’s messaging account. They continued to communicate with Holt, who sent obscene materials and pressured her for a meeting. The officers, posing as the girl, agreed to meet and when Holt arrived for the rendezvous he was arrested. Holt was prosecuted in federal court and sentenced Tuesday to 21 months in federal prison and three years of supervised released.
