Anderson Man Arrested In Oregon For Murder Of Texas Man

A man from Anderson has been arrested for the murder of a man whose body was found last Thursday in a remote area of Siskiyou County. The body of 31-year-old Hunter Simms of Sugarland, Texas was found by a utility worker at the bottom of a hill in a remote area near North Old State Road near Eddy Creek road northwest of Weed. A vehicle linked to Simms was found nearby. Evidence found at the scene eventually led major crimes investigators to suspect 41-year-old Eddie Dodge of Anderson. An arrest warrant was issued and last Friday night Dodge was stopped and detained by Oregon State Police in the Medford area. He’s now in Jackson County jail awaiting extradition to California. The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office has not identified a motive for the killing, but they got significant help in the investigation from several drug task forces.
