One hundred days after a wildfire wiped out the Town of Paradise, authorities are almost done identifying all 85 who died. The Butte County sheriff’s office released the names of two more victims this week, bringing the total number of people publicly identified to 73. The fire that started at 6:30 a.m. Nov. 8 in the tiny town of Pulga became the nation’s deadliest and most destructive wildfire in a century. Most of the deceased were elderly, and many were disabled. The oldest was 99, and 59 of the people who have been identified were 65 or older. The Associated Press mapped the locations of where people died as the fire advanced, and interviewed friends and family of victims to show how they lived.
