Theft Suspect Arrested On Warrants In Shasta Lake

City of Shasta Lake Deputies are looking for people who may have been theft victims. Thursday afternoon, officers were talking with 57-year-old Robert Portz, who was near a grey Toyota pickup near the intersection of Lassen Avenue and Shasta Dam Boulevard. A records check showed that he had 2 outstanding misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. While deputies were attempting to contact Portz he walked away out of sight of the deputies. A search of the property was conducted and Portz was ultimately located hiding on the second floor of an outbuilding on the property. Portz was placed under arrest for his outstanding warrants and delaying or resisting a peace officer in the performance of their duties. Portz had the keys to the pickup. There were numerous items in the bed of the pickup that may have been stolen. Anyone with any information regarding the pickup or residential or commercial burglaries in the area to call the sheriff’s office at 245-6540.
