REU: About 100 Customers Remain Without Power

Redding Electric Utility is still working to get all homes re-energized. Around 100 customers are still without power. It’s estimated that 75 of them need to repair their own equipment before their electricity can be turned on. One week ago 32,000 of REU’s 45,000 customers were without power. Those who still have no power should call REU at 245-7000. That’s also the number to call to report downed lines, which should always be treated as if they were live. Many customers might have their power restored and not even know it because their breaker boxes may have tripped off or their fuses may have blown. The same goes for PG&E customers, thousands of whom remain without power in Shasta County. PG&E says it has more than 250 workers on the job trying to restore electricity. There’s an outage map at pge.com.
