Although some areas got soaked with lots of rain this week, there was a wide variation in the totals from different reporting stations. In the 3 day period ending at 8AM Wednesday morning, the official National Weather Service rain gauge at Redding Municipal Airport measured just under 2 inches, while downtown’s fire station #1 tallied more than three times as much; 6 and a half inches. Whiskeytown was drenched with 23.4 inches, while Shasta Dam received about 15 inches.Elsewhere, Paradise got 11 inches, Chico about 4 and a half and less than 2 inches in Red Bluff.
