A deadly big rig crash closed Northbound Interstate Five Thursday morning in Siskiyou County. Just after 5AM a Reddaway big rig towing double trailers was blocking the northbound lanes after it became jackknifed and struck the hillside between Anderson Grade Summit and the Collier Rest Area. The driver, a 59-year-old man from Galt, was found deceased on the right shoulder of the freeway, but it wasn’t immediately apparent how he had died because there were no other vehicles around. A few miles away, CHP Officers found a Volvo big rig, driven by a 35-year-old Sacramento man. That driver was interviewed and it was learned that he had struck the other driver, who had gotten out of the cab of his jackknifed truck.
