Yreka Woman Killed After Being Ejected From Pickup

A woman was killed in a rollover crash in Siskiyou County Wednesday that the CHP says she may have survived if she had been wearing a seatbelt. At around 3 O’clock Wednesday afternoon, the 47-year-old woman from Yreka was driving a Ford F-150 pickup northbound on Big Springs Road. North of Machado Road she came upon a right-hand curve but continued straight into the opposing lane. She then overcorrected as she pulled the wheel too hard to the right to try and get back in her lane, causing the truck to roll over. Because she was unrestrained, the woman was ejected onto the roadway and died of her injuries.
