A young man from Redding was killed in a high speed crash in Happy Valley Sunday morning. At 7:20AM, the 21-year-old man was driving a 2000 BMW coupe eastbound on China Gulch Road approaching Canyon Road. The CHP says he went into a sweeping right turn at a high rate of speed and lost control of the car, which left the roadway and crashed into a tree. The driver was wearing his seatbelt, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
