“Chronic Offender” Sentenced To 6 Year In State Prison

A repeat offender has been sentenced for 2 high speed chases in stolen cars. Robert Parenteau, who’s been on the target list for the Chronic Offender Accountability Program has been sentenced to six years in state prison. In September of 2018, Parenteau led Anderson Police on a chase at speeds up to 110 miles per hour. The chase went from Anderson to Cottonwood where Parenteau jumped out of the vehicle while it was still moving. He fled on foot got away. In November, Parenteau was in a different stolen vehicle and led Redding Police on a high speed chase through a neighborhood in Southwest Redding. Parenteau lost control and crashed into a fence and a truck outside of a Leland Avenue residence. He again fled on foot, but was apprehended and was apprehended with the help of California Highway Patrol Air Operations. In addition to being sentenced to 6 years in state prison, he was ordered to pay $1,700 in restitution for the damage he caused on Leland Avenue. In the last 2 years, Parenteau has been arrested 13 times and had violated parole or probation 3 times.
