SPI Offering Free Trees To Replant After Carr Fire

Free trees are being offered to residents of the Old Shasta and Keswick area so they can work toward replanting the land following the devastation of the Carr Fire last year. More than two thousand tree seedlings are being provided by Sierra Pacific to the Carr Fire Recovery and Watershed restoration Project for replanting the blackened hills of Keswick and Old Shasta. A similar giveaway was done earlier this month in French Gulch. Available seedling species include Ponderosa Pine, Douglas Fir and Cedar. The giveaway event is Tuesday April 2nd at 2 O’clock at the old school house parking lot on French Alley in Old Shasta. A forester will be there to offer advice on planting the seedlings.
