NVCF Focusing On Long-Term Support For Camp Fire Victims

Five months after the deadly Camp Fire ripped through paradise and surrounding communities, the North Valley Community Foundation is shifting it’s focus from short-term help to long-term solutions. The NVCF “Camp Fire Healing Initiative” will focus on healing trauma by promoting mental, emotional, physical and spiritual wellness. One Million Dollars will be dedicated to the project over the next year. The grants will go to local organizations, agencies and schools working with residents affected by the fire and living in Butte, Glenn, Tehama and Colusa Counties. This week’s grants from NVCF total $233,000 and bring the total of grants distributed so far to more than 3.2 Million Dollars. The Butte Strong Fund has also distributed Millions in grants.
