A motorcyclist was arrested after allegedly shooting at two people. On Monday afternoon, Tehama County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of someone firing 7 or 8 shots from a black and red Harley Davidson motorcycle in the area of Valley Vista Drive. The bike was later reported at the Econolodge in Corning. Deputies then spotted it in the area of Highway 99W near Olivewood Drive and attempted a stop. The rider took off and deputies and Corning Police Officers pursued the motorcycle at speeds in excess of 100 miles an hour. During the chase, deputies say the rider discarded the gun, which was later found by a police K9. The motorcyclist, 37-year-old Clayton Shane Humphrey, finally stopped at a residence on Flournoy Avenue and was taken into custody. The two people who reported the gunfire identified Humphrey as the shooter. He was booked into Tehama County Jail, charged with attempted murder and felony evading a peace officer. His bail was set at $515,000. The bullets didn’t hit the intended victims and there were no injuries reported.
