Missing Woman Found Safe In Shasta Lake City

A missing woman was found near Shasta Lake City Wednesday night thanks a team effort. At around 10:30PM deputies were flagged down by Gary Krug, who said his wife, 65-year-old Jackie Krug, had gotten lost. Jackie had left their home on Akrich Street at around 5 O’clock to walk to a friend’s house nearby but she never showed up. Gary said she has medical issues and some dementia. Deputies started searching the woods with help from a CHP helicopter. Deputies tracked Jackie’s footprints from the house and just before Midnight the helicopter crew spotted her using their thermal imaging about a quarter mile from her home in a heavily wooded area. She had fallen and was complaining of back pain. The helicopter landed in a nearby field and the CHP Officers helped the deputies as they transferred Jackie to an ambulance to take her to a hospital.
