Shasta County Public Health Reports New Measles Case

Another case of Measles has been reported by Shasta County Public Health. If you have not been vaccinated and were in any of the following places at the listed dates & times, you should watch for symptoms and limit contact with others, especially infants and pregnant women, for 21 days. the locations are:

-Hinkles Market on April 3rd
-Club 501 on April 5th and 6th from 10PM to 2AM
-Shasta Regional Medical Center on April 4th from 9AM to 1PM and the 7th from 1:45 to 5:15PM and 9:15PM to 12:30AM
-Shasta Community Health Center on April 8th from 12:30 to 3PM
-Uber customers may have been exposed on April 4th from 8:30 to 10:30AM and 11:30AM to 1:30PM. Also on April 5th between 1PM and 2:30PM. There were also exposures reported on the 7th and 8th at various times.
-Lyft passengers and drivers may have been exposed on April 4th from 8:30AM to 10:30AM, and from 11:30AM to 3PM. Other exposure times include on the 5th from 1PM to 2:30PM, on the 7th various times, and on the 8th from 1:15PM to 2:30PM.
-The Walgreens on Eureka Way on April 4th from Noon until 2PM.

Measles is highly a contagious viral disease spread through the air. People who’ve had 2 doses of vaccine have less than 1% chance of getting the disease. Nationwide, almost 500 cases have been reported in 19 states.
