250 Honeybee Hives Destroyed In North Redding

Redding Police are on the trail of a honeybee massacre. The crime occurred last Saturday afternoon off Twin View Boulevard at a bee yard containing about 250 hives owned by Josh and Wendy Sullivan. She says someone drove a pickup truck into the yard and completely destroyed more than 80 of the bee boxes. After discovering the damage, Josh Sullivan put several of the hives back together so the swarming and confused bees would have somewhere to go and re-establish themselves. The vandal returned to the scene at 7PM that evening and busted up the repaired hives. Wendy has photos of the suspect vehicle. It’s a black Dodge crewcab pickup truck with a lift kit. It has chrome bumpers and running boards with dual exhaust out the back. Photos are on the KQMS Facebook page.
